30 things I want my daughter to know

1. Invest in memories more than things. Things come and go, but you will never have another opportunity to live in this moment.

2. Thankfulness over comparison.

3. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but a good amount of it actually is.

4. It’s more than okay to cry when you feel the need to. When you’re done, pick yourself up off the floor and go wash your face. You don’t belong down there.

5. Stay around people and places that resonate with your soul.

6. Don’t confuse happiness with wholeness.

7. Your body, your rules.

8. Always say please and thank you.

9. Save “I’m sorry” for when you really need it.

10. You are enough. And you always will be.

11. No matter where you are, you can always come home.

12. Say what you mean, and mean what you say.

13. No one will ever love you more than I do.

14. You are beautiful. Without a compliment or a mirror.

15. Another woman’s beauty is not the absence of your own.

16. NEVER be afraid to say no.

17. Don’t wait for others to validate you. You’re amazing. Always remember that.

18. Don’t judge people. Get to know them.

19. Family is not just the people that are related to you.

20. High school is not the best times of your life, but still enjoy it. You will miss it one day.

21. Go barefoot as often as you can.

22. Laugh as much as you can and as loud as you want.

23. Always say “I love you” when you leave home or hang up the phone.

24. Find beauty in the small things.

25. Wash your face every night and morning.

26. Choose your friends wisely.

27. Don’t let anyone push you around. Stand up for yourself and what you think is right.

28. The bond we share can never be replaced.

29. Smile at strangers and have a kind heart. Everyone is going through things you don’t know about.

30. Bad days won’t last. We will eat ice cream, watch Netflix and get through it.
